Bipasha Basu is an Indian film actress who appears in Bollywood films and a former model. She was the winner of the Ford’s Godrej Cintho Supermodel contest for 1996 and is currently one of the mainstream actresses in Bollywood.
After winning the Ford Godrej Cinthol contest, Basu was flown to New York by the Ford Company, where she had a successful modelling career at the age of 17.
Bipasha Basu made her film debut in Abbas Mustan’s Ajnabee, with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor. She played a married woman who goes all out to w.o.o her husband’s married friend, and eventually won the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for her performance.

In 2002, Basu starred in Telugu movie Takkari Donga opposite Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu and Vikram Bhatt’s thriller Raaz. Raaz was a big commercial success and surfaced as the biggest hit of that year. For her performance in the film, she received her first Best Actress nomination at the Filmfare. Biography of Shilpa Shirodkar
Shilpa Shirodkar is an Indian actress and model who enjoyed a period of popularity in the 1990s. She is younger sister of actress Namrata Shirodkar. However, Shilpa and Namrata started their career together but Shilpa started with films and Namrata with modelling . She is grand-daughter of the famous Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar, who starred in Marathi film Brahmachari (1930s).
She made her film debut with the 1989 film Bhrashtachar. She has appeared in successful films such as Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Hum (1991), Aankhen (1993) and the critically acclaimed Mrityudand (1997). She quit acting after her marriage like her sister Namrata. Her last film appearance was in the 2000 film Gaja Gamini. In her short film career she did not get enough opportunity to showcase her talents and was stuck with roles which provided glamour to the films.
Shilpa Shirodkartied the knot with Apresh Ranjit at a simple ceremony in Mumbai on Sunday, July 11, 2000. After her marriage the two lived in New Zealand, then to the Netherlands, finally setting down in London, Britain, where Aparesh found employment with the Barclays Bank.
She gave birth to a daughter, Anushka, during 2003, and now calls herself a ‘full-time mom’.
